Thanks guys, I built the larger one last summer and the smaller one
I started on around Jan 1. Fun to build but tedious. I did use a dovetail
jig to cut the dovetails. They came from the same tree but different logs.

  More thanks for the comments.

samandothers...I attached the small boxes inside with a short wood  screw
at each end, front and back of case.

I finished them using Formby's Tung Oil Finish, low gloss clear. Dries fairly
quick and doesn't leave a strong varnish odor.
