The 015L had electronic ignition versus breaker point ignition on the plain 015.Both were top handled.

015 AV was a rear handled version with anti vibration rubber mounts.

First 015 introduced in 1973 in West Germany and were all white/gray color.
First saw manufactured at the Stihl Virginia Beach plant in 1974 was a 015 color changing to all orange.
I'm not certain but from a picture of an all white 015 hanging on display at the Virgina Beach museum I think the very first run of them may have been all white.
Last year of production was 1983.

Great for limbing, pruning and camp fire wood. I sure didn't like working on them.

Is this it Willard.

Yes Joe  that would be one of the very early 015s probably from West Germany. As I said later the US models changed to all orange and the Stihl badge on the rewind housing with the cross cut log design was phased out 1976.

I bought a 015 all orange in 1976 or maybe 77 for $90.  I still use it all the time.  No repairs besides cleaning the carb out once.  It's perfect for pole building type cutting.
