I'm a sucker for old american made power tools. I saw this locally for $50 and couldn't pass it up.

It's an old craftsman planer made in the late 40s or early 50's. It will only plane 6" wide in one pass, but you can turn the board around and plane it again to get 12". These originally came with a half horse motor and this one has been changed out to a 1/4 horse so its no hogger for sure. It is a manual feed planer. You just start pushing the board in one side and pull it out the back side.
I will likely just restore it and put it up on the top shelf in the shop.

The spelling is so close, it can be confusing. One additional letter "n" and the difference between plane(planing) and plan(planning) changes the meaning quickly.  ;D
