Wood Storage concerns

I have several stacks of wood that has been stored inside my barn/shop for more than 4 or 5 years.  It has been stickered.  I would like to relocate it and store it without stickers to save space.

New location will be a covered barn, but it is not completely enclosed yet.  I figure it will be a few feet above the ground on some sort of rack with the ends of the boards pointing out.

Should I have any special concerns?

The hickory is very susceptible to powderpost beetles.  If it was down here, they would surely get in it and in the walnut sapwood.  They don't like poplar and cherry as much.

So, even if it is kept dry, they could make themselves at home?

Oh yes.  Powderpost beetles love wood that is air dried.
