So the spool valve for the blade cylinders is seeping oil around the spool nearest the control handle. I have not even been cycling the valve because I don't have my new cylinders hooked up yet. Is it possible to put new seals in it. Is it just o rings? It looks like I could buy a new valve for around 100.00. Thought I would ask before just buying new.
Also any guess as to how many GPM a system like this would be? I was thinking about 10?
Thanks and Merry Christmas, Fred

i would think there is just an o ring or two in the spool bore.

Autocar

I agree just two O rings on each end of the spool cheap fix to try , but also had to replace because of ware on the spool there are company's that re chrome spools. Good luck Bill

Thanks guys, I pulled the valve off the machine. I will pull it apart and see in new o rings will fix if the spool looks ok.

Is that a Gresen?

If so, most likely has a four-lobed square section seal rather than standard o-ring.

My local hydraulic shop had them for a fraction the prices I found online.

^You betcha.  What's the spool diameter?

I can check that dimension against the seals for my Bobcat M600.

So the spool diameter is 1". Here is a picture of the seal. There is one at each end of the spool.

Looks like a lip seal.  I was thinking quad ring.

If it measures 1" x 1.25"x.135-40", and you can't find the exact match, p# 6 515 313 from Bobcat might work.

Keep up the good work on the Garrett.

Looks exactly like the seals in the hydraulic band tensioner on a wm lt40. The sizes look the same.

Air Oil Products, AOP has tons of selection of o rings, quad rings, chevron seals, etc, etc. they have an office/warehouse in the Seattle metro area.  Another good source is Spencer Fluid Power in Kent.

NRE,
That measurement is the same as mine. Just curious what Bobcat machine and valve that is? Thanks again!

^
70's era M600.
All three spools in the valve bank use that seal.  (boom lift, bucket tilt, auxiliary).
Or at least that's what the dealer sold me...

They came in a pack of 5, and as I recall, were not expensive.
The Gresen bank on my old Prentice uses the same type of seal, although those are larger.
