Noticed a little oil on my frame where it pivots. I took panel off...up under where the winch, blade, grapple controls are there is a canister that looks like a silver fuel filter. It is right above the valve body. It looked like the oil had dripped out of it. Anyone know what this canister type thing is?

It's the transmission breather filter. The line should go to the tranny. Can't remember exactly where it hooks on transmission but its on top.

Ok thanks for the reply...I looked it up in my book

If it is not a breather...I am thinking it inclined to think it to be a hydraulic accumulator. That is a device that stores hydraulic power or allows for a cushion against hydraulic surge, as when a skidder is travelling across a severe bump and the load in the grapple would make a serious shock energy requirement.
