Hey guys,

I'm really not enjoying the face full of exhaust when milling slabs.

Does anyone have any 880 muffler mods I can do... or where to get a special milling muffler?

I see the performance chainsaw competitors sometimes use an expansion chamber of some sort with a long outlet.

I think there must be something I can do aside from jamming and old shower head pipe into the muffler hole to aim the exhaust  down and away from me.

I have a few big logs to mill you see.

I'm not up on information of the 084/880 but I know there was a earlier 084 or 880 with a optional aluminum cast muffler available. Which may have a exhaust outlet plate on it that can be turned to offer preferred exhaust route direction.
Go see your Stihl dealer and look it up. :P

Thanks Holmen Tree,

I'll look into it, and that log is amazing yes I can't wait to get into it.
Had a little "incident" with a small kickback while bucking some downed trees yesterday.
Good thing I had my Kevlar pants on since my brand new full skip chain touched my knee and pulled a wack of Kevlar out and into the chainsaw.

I'm not milling until I get some sort of upper body protection.
