Jeff

I decided to spend the morning creating wood from 1's ans 0's. :)   I decided to teach myself how to create woodgrain with photoshop as it could be very useful in some upcoming projects. In the past I always sampled from real wood or photos, but that is a pain and takes time to find what you need at a scale you need. Now I can create woodgrain in a vector format. This means I can scale it as big as I need without losing quality. This is a sample of my play/learning this morning. None of the wood in the photo is real. It was all created within photoshop.  I'm now experimenting with creating figure. :)

Wow...nice job.  When I saw you say making it with 1 and 0's I thought maybe you were working with a cnc router.  The second bear claw is really nice.  I was looking at it thinking you programmed the cut and was amazed at the little areas of light you can see coming through the pads in the claw.  Now I see it was rendered but very nice work!  Vectors are very handy to work with.
I cant figure out which one I like better: working with wood or making the tools to work with wood.

Looks great!

Interesting how the shading around the shape can make it look indented or stand out.   Some of the shading even makes the background look farther back (goat and bear paw).

Looks like CNC work it is so accurate.  Makes you want to put on the safety glasses and dust mask..... :) :)

Earlier I changed myself into Santa Claus, as I figured it would make Christmas shopping easier, as it turns out, It didn't. :)
