I have a chance to buy a Stihl 034 Super for $150.  Owner says the oil pickup tube needs to be replaced.  Is this a an easy fix?  I worked on lots of saws but never worked on an 034. Any other peculiarities of this saw I should look out for?  I haven't seen the thing yet but for $150, I'm afraid it might be pretty beat up.  That seems low to me.

sonnyboy53, I,ll attach a IPL, its in 3 langauges but you can see the break down of the oil pump. http://www.smaf-touseau.com/doc/582
For a buck and a half its not a bad deal and usually the pumps dont not go bad just the supply line or clogged. Even if its bad you could probably get a used one from http://store.chainsawr.com/
If you have worked on other saws you will be fine! Good luck! Tim

The oil line from the pump to the tank is easy. From the pump to the bar is simple, but can be aggravating. You have to have the piece the right length and it has to be heated to get on the barb on the pump. And, if you mess it up they make sure they don't give you quite enough to make two out of it.
