     I posted a question a while back about spalted maple log I had. Wasn't spalted but beetle attacked.Ambrosia is what I was told. The log is a Red or Swamp Maple.(soft) Finally got the logs sawed and to my surprise 8) Way cool lookin wood.



      This is what is known as a "Wood Ghost" :D :D

I made a bookcase from maple just like that, turned out awesome. ;D ;D ;D

I've got about 1500BF of that air dried for a year...however mine is not as "attacked" as your pictures, probably 1/3 as much.

Gotta get it through the kiln, I was thinking of a floor......
