I'm on a road trip and driving on a back road about 20 miles west of Oshkosh and I was thinking that this would be a good place for a portable sawmill and about that time I saw a wood-mizer beside the road with a pile of lumber next to it.

Red Oaks, I'm very impressed with the oak trees here.  There is nothing like this on the west coast. I haven't seen any big trees here but I see straight tall trees that would make fantastic lumber.

Stumpy, I'll be heading through Milwaukee early Sunday morning making a bee line for the Great Salt Lake. I'll be back in 5 years, will plan better next time. This forum didn't even enter my mind 'til I got here and saw the trees.
