Hi guys,
Every once in a while I need extra grey cells. If someone is converting a Husqvarna 450 chainsaw from Spur to Rim and Drum system. Do they have to swap the oiler gear too? The older 300 series needed that, but how about this one?

Thanks!

Yes Caprice you need to change the oil pump drive gear with #503892103 to convert the 450 spur drum to rim sprocket setup.
Also my information tells me the Oregon rim sprocket drum kit is the same part# as the 300 series
#ORF108215X but the 300 series takes a 503892102 drive gear.....probably why Baileys doesn't list the 450 for that carving kit conversion.

And speaking of carving saws I think I know the fellow who may be challenging your tech staff for this information seeing he won a Husqvarna 450 saw for a prize at my carving competition last winter. He has been trying to convert the saw over 1/4" chain  for carving , his name is Kyle Reid. ;)
Making a living with a saw since age 16.
