Looks like our old Tbird has lost a driver's side exhaust manifold gasket. I'm going to have a friend wrench on it next week. I'll go out tomorrow and see if there is someway for me to get some bluecreeper up on those manifold bolts. 50 year old manifold bolts ought to be a real challenge. I'll letcha all know how it goes. :)

I'm sure your mechanic is going to appreciate your efforts with the Bluecreeper.

Well, I tried, and there is no way I can get to the bottom bolts without getting the bird in the air, SO, I will be taking a good dose of Bluecreeper with me when I drop the car off next week.  :)

Good News!  As it turns out, it was not the manifold gasket, but simply the seal between the exhaust headpipe and the manifold as bolts had stretched or something. I had put bluecreeper on those bolts, as I could reach that. He was able to take that right apart, put new bolts in and re tighten.  I got a message a little while ago that someone needed to come pick up a beautiful old T-bird from his place. :)

Not the first time that Blue Creeper has made it easy to get nuts and bolts loose when rusted together.

Great to hear the good news.  Hope your mechanic has a few oz's of the great Blue Creeper on hand.

I mentioned bluecreeper to my lawn and garden dealer yesterday.  He said it was ok stuff but nobody around here sells it.

If he said it was just "ok stuff" he then obviously has never used it himself.

We need to get the Bird appraised after the pig roast dust settles.

We do. Mostly because at great regret, I'm probably going to have to sell it. I certainly dont want to. While I really love having an old car, it doesn't make sense. Its a struggle to store it for the winter, and frankly, I could use the mula.

Thanks for all the support of Bluecreeper!

Jeff - Sorry to hear you might be selling the car.  I hope to get a ride in it in a week or so.
