ms440 rebuild

Has anyone here rebuilt a stihl ms440 engine?  I'm looking for recommendations on kits for this saw.

I have. But, there are so many choices out there now that I have not kept up with. I think Meteor still has the best reputation other than OEM and that is what I have been using.

Are you sure the cylinder cannot be salvaged ? They usually can.

Yes, I should have clarified.  I will need a piston kit.   I haven't rebuild any chainsaw engines, but I have rebuilt plenty of large engines.

My main concern is getting a quality kit.  In the world of bigger engine kits, there is a lot of cheap, imported crap out there.

Get a Meteor .

Hard to beat the quality of a Meteor top end......(unless its OEM of course)
