Whats the good and bad with a dangle in hardwood ? Only seen 1 at a show, but there seems to be alot of them around. Found a 620E and a 630B for sale, both of them with those heads. How about working on them ? Parts ? Still stuck here on the boat looking at iron, not a good thing.  8)

Very popular head around here.  Do they have top saws?  If you are working a lot of hardwood a top saw is certainly an asset.  Keep in mind that ctl heads are designed for softwood primarily.
Lots of toys for working in the bush

The 7000 is a popular model, and with a topsaw can handle hardwood as Ken mentioned. If you solely do hardwood, a 7000 XT or 9000 would be a better choice in my opinion.
The 9000 is heavier and bigger, and should also have the option of the topsaw.

You'll also want a computer system that the technicians are used to supporting, and this would also mean having a up to date software. Motomit and Logmate comes to mind for Logmax products.

i laid out wood ahead of two crews running them on 580b cat/ecology carriers. never heard them complain about the head, handled plenty of hardwood with them. but the head was to heavy for the carrier. ended up rebuilding the slew bearing quite often. they went to an all ponnse setup after that.
