Good job Ive cut alot of big cottonwood logs over the years, around here the bigger ones will cut with wind shake,thanks for scharing cool video  ;D.

What do you use the cottonwood for? We usually leave them unless they would make good pulp, no market here, that I'm aware of.

Kemper- This is a test load to check the waters on the Cottonwood market. There is a market...don't know how this is going to work out though. I don't know what they are doing with the timber, I am pre bucking it at 14'6 and 10'6 with 14 inch minimum top. It is going to be right around 5 trees to the load. I hope the market is decent because I have 16 acres of it to cut up in my area.

There is a market in the Midwest mostly for pallet. The few times we have sold them we got around .26 a board foot delivered to the mill not much but they have a lot of volume.

Yep, hear they are using cottonwood, along with sycamore and hackberry for transport blocking at the John Deere plant in Moline, IL and at the Cat plant in Peoria, IL.
