I have a Woodland Mills sawmill and would like to change the log holders from the screw type to a cam type. I ran a WM 30 years ago and it had the Cam type which worked well. I could mount that on the Woodland mill because I have it mounted on a trailer and have room below it. I realize I would have to eliminate the handle for the cam and use a removable bar because of the two post head. Any thoughts out here to different log holding devises?

OlJarhead made a cam type clamp for his LT10. I don't think it would be too hard to adapt to any manual mill. This link should take you to some pictures of it:

I have one I cut off of my mill when I added the hydraulic turner/clamp. If you pay shipping I'll send it to you.

Jake,
What model of clamp is it that you took off your mill?

Jake,
Thank you for the offer of your log clamp. I will have to pass. I just built 3 cam type and just have to weld them onto the slide in piece where the screw tightner was. Thanks for everyones help and pictures. Makes it easy when someone else does the thinkin.

If you don't make time to do it right you'll have to make time to do it again.

Follow the easy directions, and as long as your pics are on your computer in .jpg format, the rest is pretty easy and just a few steps.

Holler if any of the steps are not apparent, as I know that can happen. I often run into blank walls, and just need a push to see my way through the maze.

Jake if you really have no more use for that clamp, I'd take it.  I've been planning to try and make one, hasn't made the priority list yet.
