Thanks Woodhauler, but no thanks required. The work was hard and the pay was good. And besides, I volunteered.  ;)

Memorial day probably means the most to us veterans as we paid the price for our country and so many paid the ultimate price. To most people today it's just another paid holliday or out of school but the veteran enjoys it most because he was lucky enough to make it home.
Anybody serve with the 1/5th mech or the 4/23 mech, 25 inf. div. RVN 67/68?
To all you vets, glad you made it home, was probably the happiest day of my life returning to American soil and will never leave it again.

In my family we have many vets and we put veterans second only to family, In our world we would not have the privalidge of being independent logger, wood haulers, foresters, Well anything without our freedom, I really feel that most people today have no glue how lucky we are thanks to the men and women who have served all parts of our military, I for one think that vets are a gift from all gods.

Thank you thank you thank you all you veterans, no matter when, where, what branch.  As somebody said yesterday, Heroes don't wear capes, they wear dog tags!  My dad was Army.

A few years ago, we visited the beaches, and the graves, at Normandy.  It was an indescribable experience, and we've never thought of our veterans quite the same since.  At church yesterday, our choir did a song honoring our veterans (including the trumpet), from the movie "We Were Soldiers".  Here's the West Point Cadet Glee Club doing the song, great tribute to those fallen, get your hankies ready.
