Friction gear any idea what maker

Trader, I don't recognize it, seems every local foundry made/copied a sawmill years ago. Your best bet is to ask a local sawyer. Is it complete ? its hard to tell from the photo exactly how it works. Years ago there were some clever rascals designing mills. Frank C.

Thanks Frank the two pulleys sandwich what looks like welt material or strips of canvas, on the lever is engaged, i think?

does that contain the forward reverse ? I can't make it out that good .

I have to have a friend take a look at it to figure it out exactly but the pulley on the left if i turn it forward it engages the material betweenthe pulleys and moves the other pulley. If i spin it backwards it spins  freely not engaging the othe pulley.

Nothing jackleg about that mill looks heavy duty from the feedworks standpoint. Turning it by hand it should be apparent how she works. Keep at it trader its a long road but a pleasant journey. Frank C.
