Whole suckling Pigs are way up in cost this year.
Wholesale cost 4.05 per lb. this week, 3.95 last week.

Not here.
Ha! I didn't figure that would work for you, Jeff :D I got a kick out of the quote you use to have under your avatar- "Grits survivor"  :D Have you ever had the akward situation at the pig roast where there are some southerners away from the main group, maybe 3 guys in a pickup (with plates from Dixie) acting suspicious,  and come to find out, grits use is taking place? You know, some people can't leave their vices at home for even a couple of days of good clean fun ;D

We actually did have a grits event one pig roast morning.  If I remember correctly,  CHARLIE's wife donna cooked some up.  And if I also remember correctly, Marcel (isawlogs) had seconds and scraped the pan for more. :D

Hmm, that just don't sound right. Maybe some pan fried bread with syrup or something. Or Cream of Wheat or Red River, but never grits.  You guys played a dirty trick or something and he was starved. ::) I do remember this though.

I do remember that incident, DanG and Charlie talked southern talk and had Donna whip up a special southern meal.  Hey, it was southern food, who was I to saye no to a purdy lady flashing those southern eyes, ( it was really early in da morning too, brain not working real good , translation was quite slow ) then they fed me that bowl and actualy said it was good.  :o
Ray it all got lost in translation, that southern brawl they talk sure can mess ones thoughts, I should of been on my gards, but they brought in the that purty lady to have me succomb to there ways. I had to swallow and have a second spoon full, she was there just awaiting for my approval, they even but more buter to up the taste, then salt , then pepper then more butter.....  ::)  It was not the cook, it was the product she was trying to sell, no marketing can ever make that good, none..... :-\
I have not had any since and will not go out of my way or anybody elses  to give it another try. I learnt how they pronounce it and have studied that language now enough to know that '' grits '' should be kept whole and eaten on the cob with salt pepper and butter.

They did not even offer the sirop d'érable to help wash it down, never crossed there mind.

Ya, I do live in the southern part of Québec but was raised way up north where my heart and taste is  digin1  smiley_smug01

Marcel, it's ok to tell the truth. You don't have to be pressured into saying what all these other guys want to hear.  :D :D :D

Well isawlogs,I am glad to hear the truth. I knew you did not let me down. I have "friends" like that too. I do something dumb and they all gang up on me and laugh about it. Seem like they laugh at me alot too.
