Yep that's what I thought

If it's running 100% and in good condition, age isn't really as big of a factor with saws as it is with say cars+trucks.
$80 would be about tops what I would be willing to pay for a solid running 345.

I have one and is not a bad saw, light but keep in mind that its a home owner saw, the 346 was the pro saw.  ;)

I would  grab it for that price as long as it is in good condition. We cut a lot of firewood with a 345, it is a decent home owner  saw.
old age and treachery will always overcome youth and enthusiasm

If it is what you need or better yet want, and it runs you can not really go wrong at 80.00,I just sold a three yr old 435 for 200.00

5 years means nothing, it's the hours worked and how it was taken care of that counts.
Making a living with a saw since age 16.

I agree, age means nothing compared to condition. I may give $1000 for a well taken care of '70 pickup in good shape but no more than scrap value, if that, for a 30 year newer one that won't run and/or drive. Within reason, I think this is an accurate analogy with saws. Take a 1980 Stihl 028 for example. In good shape may bring 200. A 5 year old 290 non-runner my only bring 30 or 40, and it's almost 30 years newer.

luvmexfood

It's all about condition and how much it has been used and maintained.
Give me a new saw chain and I can find you a rock in a heartbeat.
