Will a husky bar fit on my super xl 925 and will it oil properly?

webgal

Looks like the groove on the Husky bar is 9mm, whilst the Homelite is reported to be 9.5. Perhaps someone may know how to mod it enough to have things fit and oil. Otherwise a good bar mount is D196 (Oregon fitment code number).
Gotta know when to fell em, know when to tell em, know when to walk away, know when to run....

if you have the bar and the super xl 925 try it, if it fits over the mount bolts check to make sure the oil hole lines with the saws oil port.
I have used my super xl 925 bar on a husky 394 and it worked fine, but I can not say the other way around as the bar on the 394 was off a craftsman-poulan 5200 and it did work on both saws

     Howdy,

To fit the Husqvarna mount to the Homelite, file the bar slot out to 3/8". Then file the adjuster holes from round to square. Keep in mind that your drive link count will switch to what the Husqvarna bar requires.

Yes, and both mounts have what Oregon Calls the "D" tail, so the oiler holes will add up.
I don't really know how much the adjester holes really need to be changed.
Information collector.

     Howdy,

The adjuster pin on the 925 is rectangular, so the round adjuster hole in the Husqvarna bar needs to be squared.

Howdy,
For future reference, do you remember if your adjuster pin is square, or rectangular shaped?

It was square but all I JD to do was run a round file through a couple times to make the hole just a little bigger and it worked.
