We always have a raven hanging around and I leave scraps for em.  Never had a Canadian Jay eat out of my hand though.  One of my favorite parts of logging is seeing all the different animals.

Great pictures! I expect that took quite a bit of patience.

Love camp robbers (gray jays), sometimes they are too tame and become easy targets in peoples camps, to bad. Nice pics

Bandmill Bandit

We call em whiskey jacks round here. The story is that they like bread with a few drops whiskey on it. Apparently they are quite funny when they are drunk. I've not Ever tried it my self but we do love em when we are camping. When the kids were small that was the first thing they looked for when we went camping. They loved feeding them.

Whiskey Jack is a common name here too.
One tried to land on my wife's head one day and caused quite a bit of excitement  :D  :D

There at least 4 Canada Jays that come to our yard every morning. They have become quite comfortable eating out of our hands. The toughest part of getting the pictures was coordinating the pushing of the camera button with their landing. They are fast.

Jdeere not to hijack the thread but how has the winter been treating you? I know you guys got some pretty brutal cold. And how are you liking that log truck?
It ain't easy...

JDeere

The log truck and crane are going good. We are as busy hauling as we can be, trucking our wood and wood for other loggers. The cold weather has actually been good for us but the snow is over 4 feet in some areas and that is a pain. We have a wide strip with almost a mile of wood on the ground and the snow really slows down the skidding. Long range forecast is for cold weather up to about April 1st.

Neat pictures. I was in thick hemlock near a cliff and was losing my bearings(location) so I shut off saw and started walking towards cliff to get a better idea where it was. Out of a small hemlock flew a blue jay and bit me in the arm. Then it sat about 3 feet away squawking. I try to be a tuff guy but it did startle me and those beaks are sharp

Family man and loving it :)

Nice photos. I only see them out in the deep woods away from settlement. They always came around the fish and game camps when I was younger. Would feed them bread like you are. Very tame. I see them on thinning blocks sometimes, but they are not as friendly because of all the saw noise around when 12-15 saws are screaming. ;D
