In the past week, I have had a few mills start paying more for pallet wood. Some of it is now being shipped down south. My prices range from $40 a ton to $45. The guy shipping it down south is paying even more and handling a second time. Just wondering how my prices compared to those out side of up-state NY. a ten percent change in price on low grade is huge

325 a thousand right now but hey, they need what ever they can get. I bet it drops this summer. now, that's for stuff with a 10" top but it can be 12 on the butt and rough.
I should say all tree length.

I get 65-75 dollars a cord on the landing for pallet bolts 100" long with an 8" minimum top.  One mill will take them with a pretty serious crook in them too.  They cut them in half before sawing them.  Another mill likes 10's but they don't pay any more for them.

Red oak pallet is paying me 275 per thou. Mixed hardwood pallet is 200 per thou. Mixed hard wood pulp three weeks ago was 42/ton then jumped to 45 last week and Friday I got a call that it's at 49 a ton. At that price pine logs are on hold as of tomorrow and I'll be slamming out hardwood pulp! Pine pallet is only 80/thou btw.

we get 23 cents a foot for pallet. We haul in about 3000 feet at a time dont know what that would in tons.

I am finding the same thing, just thought it odd that in  week or so the priced jumped the way it did. Most of the time it goes down that quick I have never seen it go up that quick and then get phone calls looking for it. I am mainly a pallet wood guy so figured I better ask around and see what was going on in the market. I have no rational explanation as to why the sudden demand

$40/ton would be about $110/cord, just about what the pulp mill is paying. Roughly $220/thou?

With mixed hardwood up here the ratio seems to be 2.55 tons to th cd.  Up here hard wood pulp has been up for the last 8 months or so. No red oak though!

.25/bd ft Doyle here. I got that a couple of weeks ago on a load I hauled in.  That's for either hardwood or cottonwood.

don't know how true it is but was told b&b was paying 55 a ton

Down here pallet wood is almost non-existent with the paper mills screaming.  $45-50 per ton if you can get it out.  All the pallet mills are buying and running pine to compensate.

Firewoodjoe

The differant prices around the counrty are amazing. A guy wouldn't think it would vary that much

treeslayer2003

yea, y'all get more for veneer up north but less down south. being in the middle I feel fortunate to get what I am for pallet/tie logs. I would like to know what y'all getting for big pine.

lumbertick

52 a ton for 10" and up red pine 110-120 a cord on white pine logs 10" up

Firewoodjoe

Lumbertic. If u don't mind where is the white pine going?

treeslayer2003

hmmm, y'all got a different system. 300 bft and up average I can get 300 a thousand[12,000lbs] tree length yellow pine.
