Hello, My name is George Seymour aka Thundercat a name which also applies to our 19 month old Clydesdale colt. When I joined back in oct. I gave no personnel background so here goes. I am 53 years old and 32years married to my high school sweetheart. I often say she is the last of the old fashioned girls, a great thing in my book. Like so many of you my life has taken some unusual and exiting turns. After high school it was drywall hanging and finishing for 10 yrs. followed by homebuilding for 10 yrs. then in 1999 we went into the auto sales business where my wife and to sons are today.I am fortunate enough to be able to take care of our farm, build shaker furniture, raise and train Llewellin Setters for bird hunting.I sometimes say I'm retired but actually stay very busy. In my first post I was contemplating the purchase of a manual mill, but realize now that would not be much fun. 20 plus years of walking on stilts and hard manual labor have left me in constant mild to moderate back and neck pain. not complaining for sure, I thank God for His grace and mercy in my life. Not crazy about  talking about myself so glad that's over. Now the reason for this post. I received a response from my oct. post from forum member Jim H. E-mailed him this past sat. with my phone #. He called later that same evening low and behold he is practically a neighbor, lives just 10 miles away. He invited me over Monday am. to demo his mill and even invited me to have a go,which I'm sure will result in yet another woodmizer sale in the near future. The more we talked he asked where our car store was then said that's where that 4-wheeler came from. would you believe that we had met 9 or 10 years ago briefly during a business transaction. it is indeed a small world. I really appreciated his hospitality to someone he thought a total stranger.Seems to be a great bunch of guys and gals here and enjoy reading and learning. Took me 40 mins.to type this, ninth grade typing class wasn't a joke after all! Thanks again for the insight and info thundercat.

George, I really enjoyed meeting you (again) and hope I can make time to get down to see your place before too long. If you think of any other questions just give me a call. As you've probably figured out this forum is a great place to learn about sawmilling and a bunch of other subjects. :)           Jim

Welcome thunder cat nice intro you tell a good story! Look forward to reading your posts in the near future. I was back n forth on manual vs hydraulic mill and my former years in the building trades decided it for me.

Welcome, 'cat!  Sounds like you're VERY busy in "retirement". Hey, that's so much more fun and rewarding than wasting away on the beach in Florida!  Don't think you said whereabouts you hail from?
