Had a guy call me today wanting to make a bar top, I offered him 2 18" cedar slabs that would bookmatch, he says that he wanted one piece solid. A small prob for me and my LL24.

I was wondering if anyone close could help this guy out?
I don't think species matter as much as price but I told him it would be expensive.

You can either reply here or pm.

Or any advice how to obtain a larger slab would be great.

Note- if I make any money of this I will donate 25% to Jeff and FF.

I'm not real close but I think I have some sweetgum that I could cut with my chainsaw mill. Shipping would be hell as well as it will be green. There must be someone closer to you!

You need to find somebody local with a slabber.  Got to be somebody nearby with a swingblade mill and a slabbing attachment.

I don't know of anybody close. It's not a must but maybe if I can find this guy what he wants, then later down the road I have a customer

If you don't make a customer, you'll make a friend.  And friends generally say nice things about friends.  Word of mouth is your best advertising.

I meant to type Sycamore but SweetGum came out! I'm hoping to cut 3 slabs out of that log and use a slab for an island top in my kitchen, quartersaw the rest.

I recall that FF member Seaman lives in either western NC or eastern TN and has a slabber.  You might send him a PM.

Im still kind of curious of the price of slabs of this size.    Thought some of you slabbers would at least venture a ballpark figure, green or dry.
