Hi guys,
Hope this is the right place to talk about this. I am a 4th year engineering student at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD. I just started a lumberjack team here on campus. We are an official organization but that's about as far as I've gotten. I have a pretty good idea for training for events and what not but I would like to teach our members other things besides just competitive events. Do you guys have any ideas for teaching my members new things? I was thinking something along the lines of putting on a chainsaw safety class. Or maybe taking the team to take a tour of an active logging site. Do you guys know of any resources involving forestry, safety, sustainability, etc?

How much time do you have left in school to do this?

And am thinking I'd start looking to organize a lumberjill's team ASAP.  ;)  8)

I switched majors so I have another year after this one. We actually have two women in our organization. Those lumberjills could kick all of our butts  :D
