One of the skidders on our job has a strange issue and I am wondering if anyone has experienced it or has any idea what it could be. That is, on very cold days after starting and warming up it will not go forward or reverse. You move the shifter into the different gears and it doesn't move. Sometimes after it warms (maybe hours) it will go. In warm weather there are no problems. All the other hydraulic functions work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

could it be the cables are stiff in the cold and it not really moving the valve?
just a shot in the dark here.

Have you tried a new transmission filter? I had the same problem and finally after 2 filters it is ok.Guess it had moisture in it and would freeze, but when it was warm it would flow.

We are going to replace that this week if we can get it to move.

Which filter was it, the screw on filter or the metal screen filter? Thanks for the responses.
