I have a Stihl ms 211c

saw and was doing some work on it . Pulled the bar and chain out and get the brake band out all good . Go to pull the saw over just cause and it turns once and stops ? Pull the recoil off and the flywheel nut falls off and the flywheel is loose . Go to set it back in the keyway and check the slot in the crank and there is my key sheared off . Look in the flywheel and no groove , the key is cast as part of the flywheel . And it is sheared enough it is unusable . Was running fine the last time I used it .  Nut is clean no loctite at all . Any one ever seen this happen before . Red

I've never had it happen, but remember that the flywheel key merely locates the flywheel. The nut is what holds it on.  You can line up the two, tighten the nut down and get back to work.   You are going to need a piston stop to keep the saw from turning over as you work on it.
