First post. Thank you. I have a question about my mid 80's Craftsman, which is purportedly same as Poulan 3800. Anyway I have a question regarding the oil pump sheet metal cover behind the clutch. The cover is held on by 4 screws I believe. There is no gasket specified in the paperwork for this cover, and further, even if there was one, sawdust could still get in at the top left where the primer shaft passes through down to the pump. It doesn't take 5 minutes of operation before the whole oil pump compartment gets packed with sawdust. I even discovered the oil pump itself packed with sawdust. This just doesn't make any sense. Should I use some gasket sealant on the edges of the cover and some cotton around the primer shaft to stop this intrusion?
