I need to pull the clutch assembly, but i have no experance with an outboard clutch. Do i pull it with a wheel puller or is it threaded if so right or left handed? thanks

Threaded...LHT. Turn it clockwise to loosen.

You can make a tool out of an appropriately size cheap socket. You can also use a screwdriver and a hammer to knock it loose.

Thank You, I will make a dedicated socket it has a wear item under it.

Don't forget to block the piston. Some use a piston stop, I use nylon rope inserted into the sparkplug hole- just make sure it doesn't go into the ports.

And just how does one do that?

Piston near the top? And how 'near' ?

Limited length of rope?   and how 'limited' ?

Just curious, as one can't see in there to be sure.  ;)

I'd be sure the piston is close to TDC (the top). How close? Close enough  You don't need to stuff 4 feet of rope down there  ;D
You don't have to use rope, but you gotta stop it somehow.
Others may have different methods?
Rope works for me.

Rope works well. Tie a little knot in a length of starter rope, move the piston so it is a little before TDC, and put the knot through the spark plug hole. Move the piston so it just stops on the rope and then you're good to take off the clutch. I wouldn't use one of those metal piston stops.
