What is the difference between skidding tongs and lifting tongs?  Is there a difference?
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

Skidding tongs usually have a grab hook and lifting tongs have a ring. Like anything used for lifting, there are more stringent specifications for their manufacture.

Lifting tongs have a different angle on the points so they will not dislodge when lifting.

lifting tongs cost more too.

I think lifting tongs are proof tested, too.
