MS460 woods port project

Just sent sent my ms460 to Terry for a professional woods port job!!! I'm stooked because this will be my first saw completely ported and done right for sure. Before I shipped it I sharpened its full chisel chain and stuck it in a 18" ash log. Fully loaded it was running 8500rpm. I can't wait to see what it will do when it returns. Chips are gonna fly!

This weekend I plan on assembling one of my PM700 so I will post some pics and info when it's all done.

terry and mr mastermind are the best around . you will never be able to run a stock saw again . hope it turns out well

5000+

8500 in cut seems pretty low for a 460, even leaning hard on it in 18" wood.

You're making max power around 9000 rpm, so it doesn't sound too far off to me.....

Last time I checked, mine was 10k or so with most if the 25" bar in red oak. Rakers set about 6 degrees.
