There are different types of carburators that are in Stihl saws.  I happen to own a 038 Mag. II  and a 038 MAG.  at one time I took the MAG for a tune up at a local shop and was told that the carburator was a special breed.  and the kit was more expensive than the usual.  would anyone know what carb that would be?
Also I noticed that the 038 MAG cuts more aggressive than the MAG II, as far as power is concerned.
What is the best carb for these saws??

The shop guy was probabley refering to one model of Bing which was hard to find kits for at one time .They aren't uncommon now of days as Oregon makes a replacement kit which is resonabaley priced .

In fact as I type laying on my desk is one .Part number Oregon 49-868 ,basic diaphragm and gasket set .It was 5-6 bucks .
