Hi folks,

Question about Stihl chain angles.

I have an Oregon 511A Bench Grinder and I run Oregon chain which is great, however I am trying to grind Stihl PMC3 chain for a buddy and I can't seem to translate the charts.

I have three variable angles on the grinder.  The grind angle ajustable on the back, the top plate angle and the vice-tilt angle.

The grind angle runs from 90 degrees thru to 40 degrees.

The top plate angle runs from -40 degrees thru 0 to + 40 degrees

The vice tilt isn't marked but it seem to run from - 10 thru 0 to +10

All of this is fine for Oregon but there seem to be more numbers for Stihl.

According to the Stilhl USG Chart, PMC3 has an "A" angle of 40, a "B" angle of 15, a "C" angle of 30 and, from what I can interpret, a grind angle of 75...

I am guessing C is the top plate angle but I don't get A or B.

Anyone?   Anyone?   :)  (head spinning... seriously)

Cheers,

JP
