So you can charge your phone just by turning on your elelteic range??
  Actually o pack packing one fired by wood was reviewed by a member here last fall. It may even have been Jeff.

Runs on water ?  ::) Actually the water has nothing to do with it. Hot water heats the thermocouple. That's the black pencil sized object sticking through the side of the pot. Stick the end of  that thermocouple in a pile of hot coals and it will make electricity just as well.

And a thermocouple sure doesn't create much "power".

The Curiosity rover that's currently on Mars runs on the same principle. Just they have a lump of plutonium as a heat source, and a whole bunch of thermocouples wrapped around it. Efficiency isn't great, but it produces power. In that case enough to power the whole rover.

He's a young lass that's made a flash light that works on the same principle.

Uses the heat of your hand to generate enough power to light a small LED.  It's not something that's going to dazzle possums at 100 paces, but if you dropped you car keys in the dark it would be enough light to find them again.
