Hello, We completed our Timber Framed home approximately 3 years ago. All  kd doug fir timbers were sealed not stained at that time. Several of the posts have oozed pitch continuously. Any tips on how to remedy this sticky problem?
Thanks Sue

I welcome you both to the Forestry Forum. :)
I have the same problem on some logs in our cabin. I plan to just let it ooze until it stops itself. Once hardened, it should scrape off easily.

I'vd had a fair amount of success by hitting the spot  with a RF gluing machine.  I build a lot of doors and sash using VGDF, and these oozing spots do seem to dry up most times. Cannot imagine renting one, but if you know of someone in perhaps a cabinet shop or door/sash shop who might risk taking the unit to your site, it might be worth a try.  Mine is actually fairly portable, and I've taken it to a few job sites for just this issue.
