Hi all. I love Land Ark finishes, but I am investigating whether or not I can achieve a Land Ark finish equivalent for less than the cost of buying the pre-mixed product. Meaning, a linseed oil/citrus solvent finish (but probably not including stuff like pine rosin, which I imagine).

Do you have any thoughts on good sources for oil and solvent to make your own mix? Is it actually less expensive?

Or can anyone recommend an exterior grade finish mix that is comparable/equally appropriate and less expensive? I am thinking of something to oil our white oak siding that should be here... one of these days.

I can't speak to the cost, but you could look into a pine tar finish.  It's traditional and supposedly holds up well.   Not sure if your comment about pine rosin was meant to preclude this option or not.
