Just thinking out loud has anyone ever used a slasher to block hardwood logs for firewood, would it work ?

When the blocks of firewood get short the clam bucket on the loader gets awfully close to the saw which can be an issue.

Chevy
I have seen some videos online where i see the operator using the slasher and the clam to cut to length logs and to trim the butts. And yes the clam hitting the blade is getting to be an issue  I was thinking maybe having an infeed conveyor with a stop, kinda like a firewood processor, but only a stand alone cutting component.

A processor is just a more versatile slasher with a splitter attached.

seeems like it would waste a lot of wood with a 2 inch saw kerf, not to mention the cost of fuel and time..

Lot of machine for cutting firewood.  Who makes a 2" kerf slasher saw  ??? ???  That'd make a heckuva pile of chips on the landing awful fast.
