I have a centermount A-Frame Prentice loader attached by tie-down rods. Has anyone had problems with the tie-down rods breaking, either from regular use, or maybe from being hit by the big unloader from the mill? How often should these things come loose and have to be retightened, and how often have others had them break?

I heard of guys putting steel blocks on the c of the truck frame to keep it from being crushed and the loader coming loose.  I used 1" steel rod the truck spring shop uses to makes U bolts. I think they called it B7 rod. Than used a 1" drive impact to snug it down. A guy I know who works on Big cranes sugested I heat the rods to 600 degrees and than torque them and when they cooled they'd be tight. never heard of them snapping or even coming lose that much, good luck...
