The "Green Fire Story" -Aldo Leopold, A Sand Country Almanac, 1949 will be shown here at the Wexford County Library at 6:00 pm as an Earth Day event. As the "old forester" in the area I've been asked to say a few words and open the program.

The "Green Fire Story" is being shown across the U.S. on Public TV, etc. It was shown in over 20 major cities yesterday and across the state of Iowa where Leopold was born. The documentary provides a good overview of ecosystem management.

I just Googled it... looks like an interesting documentary.  I'll search my cable guide for a repeat.

'Green Fire' is a very interesting film that puts Aldo's life in perspective.  We showed the film at a Soil and Water Conservation District annual meeting a few years ago.  The expressions on peoples faces during and after the screening proved the impact of the film.
If you have a chance to check this out, don't let it pass by.

We too showed it our Conservation District annual meeting.  That was in January.  It's a good film.  It was too bad that more people didn't turn out.  The previous year the DNR's wolf specialist put on a program and the hall was packed.

There was a good turn out here Monday evening. It was shown by the Wexford County Conservation District. I enjoyed answering questions after the showing concerning ecosystem management. It will be shown here again on April 29th in Missaukee County.

Thank you Ron for telling me about the green mile. I have not heard of it until now. I stayed up until 11 and watched it. Quite a program and quite a man. He made a difference in this world.
