We have a customer that wants pizza cutters. I have never done them and was wondering if anyone has any useful tips

I've seen wooden ones like your coffee scoops, with the wood housed on metal hardware. Are there kits like the scoops?

My only suggestion (tongue in cheek) is to serve pizza along with them. ;D

There are kits but they are a little different from the coffee ones  :)

I went to Penn State's site and looked at their pizza cutters. That will make a great project and should be a good seller at craft shows.

Their instructions were to drill a 1/2" hole in the blank for the tang and then turn between centers.

I think I would make a jam chuck to put in the 1/2" hole before turning. That's how I do pepper mills in order to keep the hole exactly centered. The jam chuck can be held by a chuck or with the drive center in the same indentation used to make it.
