Sawed this large poplar today.  I'm gonna to use the lumber to build a sawmill shed.  I'm very happy with how this sawmill saws.  I've never done this before so I'm learning alot.  I've sawed lots of cedar, some white oak, and now this poplar.  All the logs I've cut from my own woodlot.  Making my own lumber for some reason, just makes me smile.

Welcome to the Forum!

Looks like a nice log. I like sawing tulip, when I can get it.

I use this tractor for smaller logs, it wouldn't handle this particular log.  It's a Kubota L3240 (around 34 engine horse I think).  It is very handy for smaller logs, I have a grapple for the loader with electric/over hydraulic on the joystick.

Yellow poplar is the sweetest log for me to saw.  It is the opposite of the  smiley_devil (pecan  :)).

well you're in the right place for that.   :D  there are plenty of us here who have several hundred or thousand board feet of lumber stashed out back for no other reason than that we like it.   :)  saw away!   8)
