My son brought home a hunting knife he bought at the pawn shop. He gave 10 bucks for it and it looks pretty nice. It came in a box with NO sheath.
Is there a place you can buy just a knife sheath or a place to send in measurements of a knife and get one made?

If you have a tack shop close they should have somebody that does leather work.

Post a pic and measurements.
I may have some that would match up (and maybe not) that I would send to your son.
They are not new.

Beenthere.....the over all measurement from the top of the handle to the tip of the blade is: 9 inches

The blade is: 1 inch 1/8th wide

The blade that will actually be in the sheath is 4 5/8 inches long.

Google knife sheaths and you will find a lot of them.

Looks like a good knife.
I only have one that is close, and the sheath appears home made and prolly not shaped well for your son's knife.
The handle has corroded due to the different layers of materials used to make it.
This one isn't very fancy and am sure you can do better.

If you find no other source, your local flea market might have someone that does leather work and might be willing to make you something up.

I'd think any good knife sheath would need to be wet fitted to the knife.
