Got a nice surprise today from the mill that is buying my wood. Apparently the price of soft wood pulp is up a little from the last couple of weeks. Not a big jump but every dollar counts, and saw logs are up as well not sure on price of those yet have to get all the pulp and tops out first. 8)

Everyone and their cousin is taking advantage of higher than usual log prices out here. Domestic logs are bringing over $700/mbf, not sure what doug fir veneer peelers are going for now, but for sure it is more than standard sawlog. Word out here is that a shortage of South American plywood due to a large plant down there burning up or otherwise being offline has put major demand on n American plywood markets, coupled with sandy storm rehab $$'s are driving the current up market.

Does anybody know what Jay, Maine is paying for softwood pulp now? We have some from a  job in Western Maine and I am trying to decide the economics of shipping it to Jay.

Ya I'm trying like heck to get rid off it this week while it's up. Than I can skid the saw logs and be done with this job. Then onto a house lot clearing with the mulcher and mini ex. Than onto a nice small lot with nice pole wood and some small diameter saw logs. ;D
