Had a guy trade some work with my Brother the other day for some arial photos.
Here's a particle pic of the farm. The shed with the shiny tin is where the mill is .
That's my Dad's house in front of the shed on the highway.

I have to be honest here, my 86 year old Dad does most of the work. I run the mill. My Dad disk, plows and plants the whole shooting match. I just change the implements that go on the tractor for him and fill it up with fuel.

There are some 'ol timers in his Sunday school class that have lost their wives also. Helping work the farm is a good way for them to go back in time. When they help, they also reap the vegetables for their table.

My Dad lets all the customers pick their own and when they pay, they just put their money in the honor system jug. There is a set of scales under a shed on the road where they weigh their produce. Corn is the only crop my Dad supervises with an Eagle eye. folks will tear up a DanG corn field.  :D :D
I lot of the older women wanted to help weed the crops this year because it also reminded them of the old days.

So my Dad told me the other day, he may let some of them do that this year. He said he would pick out the 5 best Hoers in the bunch and let them work for their vegetable. I thought I was gonna fall on the ground laughing.  :D
The older crowd being able to work these fields is a real blessing in my book. It gives them something to do and a reason to get up on a beautiful spring/summer day.
I can turn the mill off between logs and hear them singing old hymns out in the field.
I wish everyone could experience this farm during planting and harvest time. It's really back to the basics of the way it used to be.  :)

That's funny!
I guess it's a matter of area. Down here we have a problem with the Hoers. I'm constantly running them off a rental property. 1 even tried to burn a bldg on me. >:(
