I've got a bunch of burr oak to cut coming up. I've always used the standard 9° blades before but would like to try some different blades. I run a WM with the 25hp electric motor on it. What would be your choice of blade for sawing these? Also my rollers are set up for 1 1/4 and I don't want to go to the 1 1/2.

Hi Norm , I run 4deg 45th 1 1/4 on my lt40 with a 42hp Kubota for that type of wood . Have had good results . I am just now trying 7,s  so far I like them also , not sure if I like them better than the 4,s . Jury is still out .

I use 4* almost all the time on dry oak, hickory, etc. I run a Super with 51hp Cat. The 1 1/4 X 045 works great for me. I have about 70 blades I keep in rotation to ReSharp. As I return to ReSharp any rejected blades are replaced with 4*. I probably have about 25 of the 4* now. I think you would be happy with the 045 blades. I tried the 1 1/2 X 055 a few years ago but went back to the 1 1/4 X 045.

Thanks for the advice guys.  :)

I'm going to get a box of the 4° and one of the 7°. My sharpener is setup for 9° but as they wear out I'm going to get rid of them and switch over. I'll use resharp for the others.

I,ve run 4 or 5° for years, found my sharpener was set at 5° just lately.  Steve
