Anyone use Nick The Grinder to sharpen Ripping Chains to 10 Degree angle?
Does it work O.K.?
I have always sharpened my chain free hand with a file holder but maybe would do better to use Nick The Grinder to touch-up after hand sharpening a few times.
Any Information or comments anyone can contribute will be appreciated.
Even if you don't use a grinder your input/opinions/comments will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

This was a well discussed topic on the Yahoo milling forum about a year ago I`d say. The consensus was that the Nick does a good job for what you pay for it. I`d have to say that a deft hand would be needed or you could easily flex the accuracy out of a lightweight grinder like the Nick.

it's pretty stiff, and the plastic used isn't the type that will twist easily.

So many trees, so little money, even less time.

Thanks for the feedback on that Oldsaw. I`ve never used one but they do look flimsy compared to some of the expensive grinders that I have.
