NCC a product manufactured from wood pulp is advertised as the latest 'wonder material'.

The first NCC factory opened in Madison, Wi. this past summer....

The National Science Foundation predicts a 600 billion dollar industry[from NCC] by 2020 !

All that glitters is not gold or in this case, is it?

What do you Foresters think?

Never heard of it before now, for those in the same boat as me:

Tough to say how promising it is since the new "factory" is owned by the Forest Service.  Sure is interesting what they can do with wood though!

Someone interested in forestry engineering & by-products would know. This material could replace auto parts, insulation, electrical componets, and boxes and containers, foam cups, etc.

But for the raw product, will there be an increased demand for chip-logs?

And for the landowner and logger, do we possess a miracle raw natural resource, for the future?
