How did folks around the east coast (mid atlantic, new york, new england)fair in the woods from the storm?  Here on the Coast of Maine got some wind and rain but little to no damage in the woods today.  I'm glad, was dreading the thought of cleaning up spruce blowdown!

We did not fair so good lots of people without power and lots of blow downs. But on the up side I can salvage the the wood and send it to the mill and make a little $.

Friends of mine in Old Westbury had 65 mph sustained wind with 90 mph gusts.  They lost more than half their trees.  Big oaks-30-40 DBH's. Pines, you name it.  Contacted them and advised how to cut for milling, making sure they paint the ends.  15 telephone poles snapped on their street alone.  No electricity, no gas, lots of attitude.
